NEW VBULLETIN FORUM 3.0 IS LIVE AND MORE!! 10/9/08

Plain and simple, for once I'm going to skip the apologies for lack of updates on the site. Work and othe things have killed my time to work on my love of flash. I've enlisted some up and coming flash artists you guys know (keeping it a surprise) to help me out in collaborating on some projects I need finished. Expect the same level of quality from movies of the past.

The biggest announcement is our our Vbulletin forum which kicks ass. It has so many new cool features I don't know where to start. It would not have been possible if it weren't for my dedicated members who raised the money in only 3 days to buy a brand new, state of the art  f'in awesome forum. So if you find yourself unable to log-in, I'm sorry to say but everything has been wiped and you'll have to sign up all over again. But trust me, the new features such as leveling up rock and were well needed. I love this forum, and I love the members that helped make it possible.I truly support the dedication over the years.

Oh and Mario gets Lucky Again IS coming, one of the admins, Jeff Brewster is helping me out on it. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Tootles!

WHAT'S THE HOLD UP?  12/2/07

Yeh, Yeh I know, I know. I've gotten your emails and I know I've been slacking...for a year now. I've promised two movies, The Mario Gets Lucky Remake, and Zelda: A Link to Chaos. So where are they? I'll be honest and tell you its mostly due to lack of motivation. After the holidays I hope to get the ball rolling. Most know this site is a hobby of mine, and it's just so damn hard to find the motivation and time to do anything anymore! I hope this changes.

As for the site, I use an old program called Netobjects Fusion to build and update it, and the program just sucks anymore. It takes forever to do a simple task such as updating this news section because the program runs so slow now.  I hope to use something new, like Dreamweaver to rebuild it in the future. So here's to "hoping"...

UNDERATED GAMES  4/24/07

Click on the above banner for more info on Pitfall.

Unfortunately, there are some great games out there that are barely ever heard of, or are totally overlooked. Fortunately for you, I'm going to try to get some of them in the spotlight again, so that if you're ever bored with what you have now, you can go out and pick up and old, overlooked classic!

In this update I'm going to talk about Pitfall: The Lost Expedition. If you love games like Tomb Raider Legend, God of War, Jak & Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, with a little Crash Bandicoot Thrown in, Pitfall is for you. This game was barely known or played by the public, why? I have no idea.
Let me begin with the graphics. For a game made in 2004, it was way ahead of its time. The high polygon count on every model, from Pitfall Harry himself, to the Jungle Chief are of much higher quality then alot of games before and after it. Each level springs to life with tons of detail. Trees blossom fruit which can be knocked off, animal life inhabit everysquare inch of the forests and jungles. It's quite a kick to sit there in first person mode and just watch a frog hanging out on a lily pad, fully animated. Then when you run near it, it springs away into the water. The foilage throughout the game is well done also. Almost everything is fully polygonal. No cheap sprite plants placed here.

The level design is incredibly fun, with little back tracking. But when you do have to backtrack its not bad at all since the levels are so beautiful. You'll only have to backtrack to a part that was unavailable earlier without a certain item. So its fun to check out what you're going to unlock with that item.

Some of the levels have that wow factor. Especially the level where you have to climp a huge mountain to get a gas mask. At the top of the mountain the landscape opens up, and it seems you can see for miles. Its an awe inspiring site.

The game also controls like a dream, and makes full unique use of the dual analog sticks. For example, to grab things, Harry uses the right analog stick. This is used for flipping switches, grabbing items etc. Later in the game you will row a raft. This is done by moving the sticks as if you were really rowing a boat. You even scale ice walls with ice picks, which make another cool use out of the dual controls.

The game does have its short-comings, and its these tiny things that annoyed reviewers. But these are easily overcome, so I don't know why these would effect a score so much. The score is probably what pushed players away.

First is the water. The effects when you are in the water are total crap. Think of when you were in water in Resident Evil: Code Veronica, and the water had those cheap circles come out around you. Like that. For a game that does every other effect perfect, I don't get it. Another thing is you can't simply jump out of the water. You have to find a slope to walk up out of the water, and this is the most annoying part of the game. Also, to save, you have to go through like 4 screens before you are done. No auto-save here. You'll find yourself not saving for a while do to this. And if your PS2 screws up, you're screwed. The map is also a few screens away, which can be a bitch too.Other then these few annoyances, Pitfall: The Lost Expedition is a great game for any third person, action platformer fan. It is available on every last-gen system from Gamecube to PS2. You can find it pretty cheap on ebay or at your local gamestop, so check it out!

Nest time I'm be talking about the most overlooked game of all time: Okami.
