Do you have the arrow sign unlocked? Just shake that, and it turns into the checkpoint flag.

I'm not sure anybody knows. Who knows if it even is the same with each level. Things like the size of the level, sub-areas, warp doors, checkpoints, etc. could cause that to fluctuate.

I think the thing you would need to worry more about is the data it takes to play Super Mario Maker in general. With the exception of making levels and playing your own levels you've created, you're using data to browse Course World, playing other people's' levels, downloading levels, playing the 100 Mario Challenge.

I would say playing Super Mario Maker takes a lot of data. Hell, just turning on your Wii U probably takes quite a bit of data. Checking for updates, downloading updates, connecting to Miiverse, etc.

Well I can always disable and reenable it. I'm gonna update SMM today just cause I paid my phone bill and I got 3GB of hotspot to kill. I'll try it out later and see how much it uses.

No problem. Regardless of who you select to be the winner, would you mind giving us stars (unless you absolutely hate the course)? I'm, roughly, 15 away from being able to upload more than 10 levels.

I hate to come off like I'm begging for stars, but unfortunately for me, I refuse to pander to the Mario Maker community that only stars courses if they're auto-play levels or levels that play a certain tune with the music note blocks as you run by.

I wish Nintendo had more of a Q.A. standard than just "if you can clear your own level, you can clog up our servers with it".
